Is possession of an electronic cigarette illegal?

I’m only 17, and I wanted to know if possession of it would be illegal. It doesn’t contain tobacco or anything and its my friend’s.

    In the States some areas (New Jersey, Utah and some others) have banned sales to young people but I’m unaware of penalties for possession. It might be best to check with your health department or something.

    Just a friendly bit of advice – If you are tempted to use the ecig remember that we don’t know the long term health implications … it may be a fantastic alternative for smokers but for people who would not otherwise smoke it’s not smart. It’s possible to get nicotine free liquid but you don’t need nicotine, try not to start.
